Our Staff:

Tom Weaver -- President/Consultant

Tom began his systems career with the introduction of electronic calculators in the Des Moines area in 1969, and later became one of the top ten producers in the nation for Canon USA.  He programmed a financial calculator with integrated insurance rates and installed and trained automobile dealers, banks and savings & loan institutions across the state.

When IBM introduced its first personal computer, Tom began programming database applications, networking and consulting with businesses on how best to utilize this remarkable new technology.  In 1988 he and his wife Elaine started Computers Plus.  Tom received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri in 1969.

Elaine Weaver -- Vice President

Elaine started her career as an educator in the fields of science and biology.  Elaine fulfills a management role at Computers Plus, in addition to assembling, testing and troubleshooting computer systems.  She supports clients on call-ins where possible or refers them to Tom or Matt.  Elaine also handles all of the accounting and purchasing for Computers Plus, and has over 16 years of experience supporting and training personal computer users.  Elaine received her Bachelor of Science in Education with a specialty in Biology from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri in 1967.

Matt Grimes -- Network/Systems Engineer

Before joining Computers Plus, Matt was the CEO of a consulting firm pioneering in PC-based solutions that integrate business telephone systems, messaging systems and local-area networks (LANs).  While specializing in the rapidly-evolving Computer Telephony Integration marketplace, Matt designed and installed a 24 channel digital fax server for an 800-user Windows NT network, and implemented a Fax-on-Demand and Interactive Voice response system.

From 1988 to 1996 Matt was the telecommunications manager for the Iowa National Guard at Camp Dodge.  While there he managed an extensive fiber optic and twisted pair cable plant, and designed and coordinated the installation of the voice and data communications infrastructure for the 238,000 square foot STARC Armory construction project.  Matt also designed a wide area network, extending the Camp Dodge TCP/IP Ethernet LAN to 52 remote armories throughout Iowa.  Matt received his Bachelor of Art in Business Administration from Grandview College in Des Moines.
